There are many things that you can do at home to help your child to develop their language and understanding, the building blocks for developing their reading skills.
In pre-school the children follow Phase 1 of the Letters and Sounds phonics framework. During this time they take part in many activities and games that develop different areas of their language - from naming environmental sounds to recognising rhythm and rhymes.
